Writing a blog is something that I have always wanted to do but never felt I had the time. I am now busier than ever! Despite this, I feel that it is more important than ever to get my message out there. As a dietitian I am constantly answering questions and clearing up misconceptions about nutrition. Food and health has become so confusing! With new diets coming out every week it becomes harder to stay on top of it all. That's where I come in!
Even though I have the title of 'dietitian' I am really a scientist. This background allows me to translate the science into day to day eating for a range of medical conditions and life stages. There is a belief that dietitians only deal with weight loss. This couldn't be further than the truth!! I have worked with people with diabetes, malnutrition, post-surgery, athletes and oncology (just to name a few). Don't get me wrong, I love working with people who are trying to lose weight as well.
There is a common belief that as a dietitian, I must be the 'food police'. Again, this is not true. I LOVE food! One of the greatest parts about my job is that I can guide people in the right direction with their nutrition. I will work with people to make changes that do not have a huge impact. By doing this, I have found people are more likely to make these changes stick. At the end of the day, I can help you achieve your nutrition or health goals in a way that suits your lifestyle and budget.
I will be sharing my experiences, recipes and health information to keep you in the loop with all things nutrition. So why wait? Let's get started!
